Common questions

How do I start a game?

Tap a game on the Play screen, tick who’s playing (or add someone), and tap Start. The + at the top of the Play screen starts a game from any scorecard.

How do I enter a score?

Use the + and − buttons beside each name, or tap the number for a keypad, then tap Add round. Games played a turn at a time, like 501 and Ten Thousand, take one player at a time instead.

I entered the wrong number. How do I fix it?

Tap the undo button at the top of the game to take back the last thing entered. To change an earlier round, tap it under Rounds so far.

Our house plays to a different number. Can I change a scorecard?

The included scorecards stay as they are, so the usual numbers are always there to go back to. Open one in Scorecards and choose Duplicate and Change to make a copy that is yours to change. Scorecards you make can be changed at any time with Change.

How do I choose which games are on the Play screen?

In Settings, tap Play Screen. Switch scorecards on or off and drag them into the order you want. Show the Usual Ones puts it back the way it came.

How do teams work?

In Settings, tap Players & Teams to name a team and tick who is on it, or choose Teams when you start a game. A team is scored as one, and a team with nobody set up on it works too.

Where are finished games, and who has won the most?

Tap Final Scores on the Play screen. It shows a podium and everybody’s wins, for all games or one, with Individuals and Teams counted separately. The finished games are listed below; tap one to see every round.

How do I share a game or a scorecard?

In a game, tap ••• to send it as a picture, a PDF, or a TillyTally file. To share scorecards, open Scorecards, tap •••, and choose Share Scorecards. To open a file someone sent you, tap the open button at the top left of the Play screen and choose Open from Files.

Is everything on my other devices too?

Yes, if you are signed in to iCloud. Your scorecards, players, teams, settings, and games, in progress and finished, are the same on your iPhone and iPad, and the newest change wins. A background picture stays on the device you chose it on. Settings shows whether TillyTally is synced.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Everything works without a connection. When you are online and signed in to iCloud, your devices catch up with each other. See the privacy policy for what it saves, and where.

Can I use it on iPad?

Yes. Requires iOS 26.0 or iPadOS 26.0 or later.

Reporting a bug

Helpful things to include: which device, which operating-system and app versions, which scorecard you were using, and what you did just before it went wrong. A screenshot is especially helpful.
